KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 8): SKP Resources Bhd said five employees of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Syarikat Sin Kwang Plastic Industries Bhd, have tested positive for Covid-19.

“The management has immediately notified the Ministry of Health (MoH) and has identified close contacts of the affected employees for swab tests as well as to ensure that the affected employees were provided with proper medical care and placed in quarantine. The management is awaiting further directives from MoH.

"As an immediate response to protect the health and safety of the workforce and the community at large, we immediately carried out disinfection and sanitisation measures at all our facilities,” it said in a stock exchange filing today.

Meanwhile, the group said it will continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures as directed by the MoH in order to ensure the necessary safeguards are in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure its employees are provided with a safe and healthy working environment.

Shares in SKP finished 1.49% or three sen lower at RM1.98, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.48 billion. It saw 6.42 million shares traded.
