KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 2): FGV Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Mohd Hairul Abdul Hamid as chief financial officer (CFO) of the plantation giant, a position left vacant after Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha resigned on Oct 12 last year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, FGV said Mohd Hairul, 48, was a former CFO of Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp).

He started his career in May 1994 as a management trainee of Sime Darby Bhd, and worked his way up the ranks to CFO of the plantations division of Sime Darby, a post he held from June 2008 to June 2011.

He was then CFO of Sime Darby's energy and utilities division from February 2011 to February 2012, before taking on the role as MRT Corp CFO from March 2012 to December 2018.

FGV shares ended the morning session down 1.5 sen or 2.1% to 70 sen today, with 5.27 million shares traded, bringing a market capitalisation of RM2.54 billion.
