KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): FGV Holdings Bhd director Datuk Yusli Mohamed Yusoff has been appointed as deputy chairman of the plantation giant effective immediately.

In a bourse filing today, FGV said Yusli's role as the deputy chairman will encompass the senior independent director's role as well.

According to FGV's Annual Report 2018, Yusli joined FGV's board in September 2018. His experience spans engineering, conglomerates and the capital market, where he has served in various positions including CEO and executive director of Bursa Malaysia Berhad.

He is also currently the president of the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance.

At 2.57pm, FGV shares were up 3 sen or 2.63% at RM1.17, with 5.13 million shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM4.31 billion.
