SINGAPORE (Feb 18): Singapore will reduce the number of foreign workers working in the country’s construction, marine shipyard and process sectors this year, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.

In particular, the S-Pass dependency ratio ceiling (DRC) for these sectors will be reduced to 15% from 20% currently.

“For many years, foreign workers have been part of our workforce,” says Heng in his Budget speech in Parliament today.
