KLCI up, Bursa volume reaches 10 billion securities after RCEP signing news

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 16): Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session higher in line with most Asian stock markets, as investors reacted well to the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) — the world's largest regional free-trade agreement — yesterday, a dealer said.

At 12.30pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI rose 4.76 points to 1,594.45 after fluctuating between 1,587.06 and 1,596.94 throughout the morning trading session.

Gainers led losers by 670 to 510, while 383 counters were unchanged, 601 untraded and 19 others suspended.

Total volume stood at 10 billion shares worth RM3.59 billion.
