<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (March 1): Genting Bhd has appointed Datuk Manharlal Ratilal, the former executive vice president and group chief financial officer of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), as an independent and non-executive director.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Ratilal, 59, also known as George Ratilal, held the VP/CFO post in Petronas, where he was also a member of the board and executive leadership team — he also sat on the boards of several subsidiaries of Petronas — until his retirement last year.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>"Prior to joining Petronas in 2003, he was attached to a local merchant bank for 18 years, concentrating on corporate finance where he was involved in advisory work in mergers and acquisitions, and the capital markets. He is an independent non-executive director of Cagamas Holdings Bhd, a public company," Genting said in a stock exchange filing today.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Also appointed as Genting's independent and non-executive director was Eric Ooi Lip Aun, 61, who was a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia until his retirement in June 2015 after 38 years of service.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Ooi is also on the board of British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Bhd.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Both appointments took effect today.</p></div>
