KUALA LUMPUR (June 28): Straits Inter Logistics Bhd has appointed former deputy inspector-general of police Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin as non-independent and non-executive chairman of the group effective immediately, replacing Tengku Baharuddin Sultan Mahmud who has resigned due to personal health reason.

According to Straits' Annual Report 2018, Tengku Baharuddin assumed his current post on Aug 5, 2016. In 2008, he was appointed as director of Haisan Resources Bhd until his resignation in April 2016.

Mohd Bakri Zinin retired as deputy inspector-general of police on Sept 5, 2014.

Straits shares closed 0.5 sen or 2.17% lower at 22.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM146.4 million.
