KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 26): Eversendai Corporation Berhad has secured a contract worth RM184 million for a mixed-use development in Mumbai.

In a statement Monday, Eversendai said it was secured the contract by Reliance Industries Ltd of India.

It said the contract was for the the construction of the Dhirubhai Ambani International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DAICEC) in Mumbai.

DAICEC will be a mixed-use development located within the Bandra Kurla Complex, a commercial zone in the heart of Mumbai.

It said fabrication work would be undertaken by Eversendai’s fabrication facilities in Malaysia, Dubai and India, and was scheduled to be completed by April 2016.

Eversendai executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan said it was a highly anticipated project in India and reaffirmed Eversendai’s continued success in winning landmark projects based on its reputation.

“As we aim to move to new frontiers, the group views this contract as a milestone achievement as India has the potential of becoming one of Eversendai’s growing and more exciting markets in the coming years.

“It is also a major breakthrough for Eversendai as it allows us to strategically position ourselves for future contracts with Reliance Industries Ltd in India,” he said.
