KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 8): The Employees Provident Fund Board (EPF) re-emerged as a substantial shareholder in Yinson Holdings Bhd today, after having acquired 868,600 shares in the latter.

This brings its shareholding in the offshore support services oil and gas firm to 51.7 million shares or a 5.006% stake equivalent.

The price transacted wasn’t stated in its filing with Bursa Malaysia, but Yinson shares were traded at between RM2.58 to RM2.75 today.

The counter rose 13 sen or 4.96% to close at RM2.75, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.83 billion.

The EPF had first emerged as a substantial shareholder in Yinson on Feb 18 this year, but ceased its position on Nov 27. 

On Nov 12, Yinson announced that its associated company Yinson Energy Sdn Bhd was awarded three licenses by Petroliam Nasional Bhd. The licences, which were effective from Oct 20, are valid for one year, subject to yearly extension.
