KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has raised its stake in YTL Corp Bhd and its subsidiary YTL Power International Bhd.

According to Bursa Malaysia filings, the provident fund now holds 659.13 million shares or a 6.19% stake in YTL Corp and 399.48 million shares or a 5.21% equity interest in YTL Power.

This followed EPF’s acquisition of 233,100 new shares in YTL Corp and 1.01 million new shares in YTL Power on March 26, the filings showed.

EPF has been a substantial shareholder of YTL Corp for years. It emerged as a substantial shareholder of YTL Power in February 2018.

On March 26, EPF also bought new shares in Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd, Hong Leong Bank Bhd, Bermaz Auto Bhd, UOA Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and Sunway REIT, today’s filings showed. EPF is a substantial shareholder in these firms.
