KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): TM One has launched its TM One’s 5G Sphere Programme, an alliance of Malaysia’s technology and smart solution partners to create an ecosystem to support the next phase of enterprise innovation and transformation, leveraging 5G.

The programme, which was launched its annual flagship event the LEAP Summit 2022 on Oct 25 in Kuala Lumpur, is to enable the use of 5G capabilities to power connected technologies to improve performance and customer experience, real-time detection, instant analysis and action for efficiency, as well as increase safety while reducing down-time through smart solutions.

TM One’s 5G Sphere offers the opportunity for enterprises to springboard their transformation through actual case studies and proof of concepts that address their business challenges. TM One is the enterprise and government sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM).

The fifth in its series, the LEAP Summit 2022 themed “Enabling Your Next: Innovate & Transform” was aimed at propeling enterprise innovation and transformation.
Increased customer expectations for digital services and platforms are reshaping how enterprises work and conduct their business, said Imri Mokhtar, group CEO of TM, in his welcoming address.

“Changes in customer expectations where digital and online platforms have become the preferred choice of engagement have changed the way we work and conduct our business[es]. As a result, enterprises and public sectors are now embracing digital innovation at speeds like never before — moving to virtualised, cloud-based services, as well as virtualising digital networks,” he said.

In order to achieve success in a post-pandemic era, businesses need to have the ability to understand the shifts in human needs and realities, with data and analytics now providing companies with insights to make better, more relevant decisions, Imri said.

“For businesses, success now lies in our ability to understand the shifts in human needs and realities, with data and analytics now providing us the insights to make better, more relevant decisions.

“Leveraging these insights requires a symbiotic relationship between human intelligence and artificial intelligence — with the combined capabilities of data, human experiences and values paving the way for businesses to predict, fulfil and exceed customer expectations.

“This is the stepping stone towards success in a post-pandemic era,” said Imri.

TM’s transformation from a telecommunications company (a telecoms operator) to a techco (technology company) focused also on fundamental shifts such as a digital way of working, outcome-based mindsets and digital upskilling, to deliver exceptional  customer outcomes through connectivity and innovative digital solutions, he said.

Apart from the 5G Sphere Programme, there was also a showcase of 5G-enabled applications for smart healthcare, smart industry and smart cities, along with several digital solutions and services, andthe latest end-to-end technologies available to enterprises and the public sector to spur their digital growth.

TM One’s executive vice president Shazurawati Abd Karim explained that the next phase of smart innovative transformation will be 5G-driven opportunities, with capabilities such as video monitoring, logistics, fleet management, as well as private 5G networks powering manufacturing, transport, factories and campuses already on the horizon.

“Moving forward, optimal 5G business solutions will arise from smart collaborations and coalitions among industry leaders, accelerating the next phase of technology adoption by both industry and the country as a whole, and enabling our aspirations for a Digital Malaysia,” she said.
