KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 31): Dubai-based airline Emirates is adding its Airbus A380 superjumbo on the Kuala Lumpur to Dubai route, starting tomorrow (Jan 1, 2016).

In a statement today, Emirates said the two-class A380 is designed to seat 615 passengers, with 58 Business Class and 557 Economy Class seats.

“This is an exciting time for us, as the A380 offers increased capacity and the opportunity for Malaysians to embark on a truly remarkable journey,” Emirates country manager for Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, Andrew Bunn, said.

“It is the world’s largest commercial aircraft in service, but it is also one of the most quiet and comfortable aircraft in the skies, packed with the latest Emirates inflight features.

"The introduction of the A380 underscores our commitment to serve the Malaysian market, providing excellent quality services and comfort,” he added.

The A380 service to Kuala Lumpur, EK342, departs Dubai at 10:15hrs (local time), and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 21:25hrs. The return flight, EK343, departs Kuala Lumpur at 01:10hrs, arriving in Dubai at 04:30hrs.

As with all flights under the airline, Emirates said passengers travelling on the Kuala Lumpur to Dubai service will be entitled to a baggage allowance of 30kg in Economy Class, and 40kg for business.

Consequently, from tomorrow, Emirates flies to 37 A380 destinations on the its network.

Later in 2016, Emirates said Birmingham (BHX), Prague (PRG) and Taipei (TPE) will be added to its A380 destinations.
