KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 26): EITA Resources Bhd's 60%-owned subsidiary TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd has secured a contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for a main substation extension worth RM18.28 million.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, EITA said its subsidiary TransSystem received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) today for the contract to carry out Pencawang Masuk Utama 500/275kV Ayer Tawar Extension, Perak.

It said the time for completion of the contract will be 912 days from the commencement date on Oct 23.

"The contract will not have any material effect on the net assets and gearing of EITA Group for the financial year ending September 30 2019 and is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of EITA Group over the duration of the contract," it said.

The contract makes it the third job from TNB that TransSystem secured just this week.

Yesterday, TransSystem secured an underground cable works contract worth RM48.83 million. On Tuesday, it also secured a 132 kV double circuit underground cable project in Ampang worth RM56.36 million.

The total worth of all three contracts is RM123.47 million.

At market close today, shares of EITA remained unchanged at RM1.29 with a market capitalisation of RM167.7 million.
