KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 19): Axiata Group Bhd's telecommunications infrastructure services unit, edotco Group Sdn Bhd, has appointed two new directors to its leadership team, in line with the company's growth and new focus areas.

In a statement, edotco said Megat Mohd Zukarlai is now its new director of business acceleration for the edotco Group and will be responsible for developing the next generation technologies portfolio. This includes pushing in-building solutions, distributed antenna systems, small cells and fibre across the six countries in which edotco is present in.

Megat will also be responsible for the establishment of strategic partnerships that will lead to growing new business areas. "Megat is highly experienced in the telecommunications industry and has held multiple leadership positions in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Malaysia over the past 22 years," edotco said.

At the same time, Azizee Abdul Aziz has been appointed edotco's director of group operations, and will be responsible for the delivery of group-wide operational improvements, and maintaining the group's digital operations and analytics drive.

He joined edotco after gaining extensive experience in managing network quality, network operations, network engineering and network planning for Celcom over the past 23 years, edotco said.

In welcoming the two directors on board, edotco group chief executive officer (CEO) Suresh Sidhu said the duo bring with them "significant experience and expertise in growing a business, leading international teams and building stakeholder relationships".

"edotco is experiencing exponential growth right now and their valuable experience blends well with our dynamic business environment and culture," Suresh added.

edotco currently owns and manages over 28,500 towers across the six countries that the group operates in.
