KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): Hong Kong-based The Coffee Academics has opened its 40th outlet in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, giving caffeinated chains in the country a welcome jolt. Its founder Jennifer Liu seeks to redefine our drinking culture by nurturing a new crop of young talent and brewing some good in the world.

“Expanding The Coffee Academics beyond the confines of Hong Kong is an exercise of pride — to show that we still have good and passionate brands to be exported to the world. We want Asia to remember us again,” says Liu. Find out how this boutique chain is bridging culture and community, one cup at a time.

Additionally, we also profile the CEO of Cortina Watch, Jeremy Lim, who shares the success strategies, anniversary celebrations and future plans of the company; as well as the managing director of Volvo Car Malaysia, Charles Frump, about the automotive scene in the country.

If you’re seeking some far-flung adventure this weekend, take a jaunt to Fig Tree Hill in Penang for some scrumptious dim sum; or round up your posse for a night of celebration as Japanese brand Roku Gin pairs 10 bars and restaurants in the Klang Valley to present a number of stellar springtime cocktails.

Read more about it in the latest issue of Options, which comes out with The Edge Malaysia weekly's May 23, 2022 edition.
