KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): The winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) 2021 Malaysia, Datuk Parmjit Singh, is on the cover of Options this week. Ahead of his travels to Monaco for the annual EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (held in-person from June 8 to 10 after a two-year hiatus), the sharp-shooting, straight-talking co-founder and CEO of the APIIT Education Group talks about life experiences that inspired his journey into the business of education and his goal of creating a sustainably run enterprise.

Don’t miss our tribute to World Ocean’s Day on June 8: Our Horology column profiles The Ocean Race Diver, Ulysse Nardin’s first watch, largely composed of recycled fishing nets; and a product page of ocean-friendly picks pays ode to the protection of Poseidon’s playground. The arts are heavily featured in this week’s issue too — president of Alliance Francaise Kuala Lumpur, Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah tells us what to expect from Le French Festival 2022, while architects Lillian Tay and Rene Tan describe the appeal of an upcoming exhibition in Kuala Lumpur and Penang that honours the controversial and divisive French master of modernist architecture that was Le Corbusier.

Also of interest: A review of Peugeot’s new 2008 subcompact car; a taste of Dom Pérignon’s mysterious and multifaceted Vintage 12; and a chat with Redza Ridzuan, one of the founders of OiLilin, which produces candles from excess cooking oil.

Read about these and more in our latest issue of Options, which comes out with The Edge Malaysia weekly's June 6, 2022 edition.
