KUALA LUMPUR (July 9): The Edge Covid-19 Pandemic Funds have delivered equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) worth RM2.8 million in the past one week to various hospitals.

University Malaya Medical Centre received RM1.44 million in ventilators and other ICU equipment like beds and video laryngoscopes. Hospital Shah Alam was given RM890,000 worth of similar equipment plus oxygen tanks, medical gloves and face shields.

The funds, which received around RM25 million in donations last year at the start of the pandemic, also gave RM466,088 to help equip the Field ICU managed by Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM).

On hand to receive the equipment from the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) last Wednesday was Lieutenant General Datuk Dr Zulkeffeli Mat Jusoh, director general of ATM health services.
