THE Edge Covid-19 Equipment Fund has received 400,000 masks from Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd (Mapletree). The donation is part of Mapletree’s donation of 3.6 million masks to the countries that it operates in to assist various frontline medical agencies in the battle against Covid-19 and to alleviate the mask shortage situation.

Mapletree is distributing the masks to more than 45 beneficiaries nominated by its offices, ranging from frontline workers, including those in healthcare, nursing homes and law enforcement, to community caregivers for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, sick and children.

The masks will be sent to beneficiaries in Singapore and Malaysia as well to cities around the world — Sydney, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Chennai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, London, New York, Los Angeles, Warsaw, Amsterdam and Dublin.

Each beneficiary will receive at least 30,000 masks, which are three-ply and CE-certified.

Mapletree’s Group CEO Hiew Yoon Khong said, “Covid-19 is a pandemic, and as a global company with a strong focus in corporate social responsibility, we strive to extend support to the communities where we have a presence. Our effort to donate the masks to the local frontline workers and community caregivers in those countries conveys our commitment to assist them in their fight against the virus.”

He added, “We are happy to partner with various organisations aligned to the same to distribute the masks to where they are needed most.”
