KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 17): Newly minted millionaire of The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire challenge, Brian Lim Choon Wah, has decided to redeem his RM1 million gift voucher for a condominium unit in Icon Residence at Mont’Kiara, Kuala Lumpur today.

“I want to thank Mah Sing Group and The Edge Media Group for organising this wonderful contest giving me the once in a lifetime opportunity to own this beautiful home. This contest will also make my sister a millionaire as I will be sharing my happiness with her,” says the 32-year-old IT project manager.

Brian will be sharing the ownership of the condominium unit with his younger sister Crystal Lim Ai Ping. Both of them were accompanied by their parents – Danny Lim and Lily Yoong – to sign the sales and purchase agreement at the condominium.

Mah Sing Group’s group managing director and chief executive Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum and CEO Ng Chai Yong, together with The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd and The Edge Property managing director Au Foong Yee were also present to witness the signing ceremony.

Brian said this is truly a blessing for him as he could finally fulfil his dream of owning his first home in such a short time. Crystal, the new co-owner of the unit, said it took the family some time to decide on property they wanted to redeem.

“It’s a difficult decision, as Mah Sing has offered us so many good properties. It took us a while to make this decision and everything here (Icon Residence) is so beautiful that we couldn't say no to it,” she said.

Both of them redeemed the one-bedroom unit in Icon Residence with a built-up size of about 1,115 sq ft. The unit is fitted out with kitchen appliances and cabinets.

Icon Residence, launched in 2012, was completed on June 2015. The development comprises three towers with 290 units, and has various layouts to suit every lifestyle.

Leong said the winner has made a good choice as Icon Residence is located in one of the most sought-after locations in the Klang Valley. The condo has enjoyed a take-up rate of 94% since its launch, and the current average selling price of Icon Residence units stood at RM1,000 psf.

Au said the historic collaboration between Mah Sing and The Edge has a put a smile on Brian and his family and hoped this first pot of gold will be a good start for the victor of the millionaire contest and bring him greater achievements in the future.

The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Contest is a collaboration between Mah Sing Group and The Edge Media Group. The online contest, which started from June 20 to July 31, attracted thousands of participants, all hoping to win the RM1 million gift voucher to purchase any Mah Sing residential property in Malaysia.

The 21 lucky finalists were chosen to battle it out in the grand finale, which was held on Aug 22, at the Southville City @ KL South sales gallery in Bangi. Brian was successful in completing three rounds of elimination challenges and bagged the final championship round to emerge the winner.
