KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): The inaugural Cities 4.0 & Business 4.0 International Conference and Exhibition will gather the public and private sectors from Malaysia and across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region to discuss practical framework and strategies to elevate the smart city concept and digital adoption in the region.

According to a media release on the Cities 4.0 & Business 4.0 International Conference and Exhibition, the event's co-organisers are Human Life Advancement Foundation and Confexhub Group. The statement said the conference and exhibition is scheduled to be held on Aug 27-29, 2018 at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.

It said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will open the event.

The statement said: "Smart cities are emerging fast and they introduce new practices and services which [have] high impact on the policy, planning, development and operation of city, whilst co-existing with urban facilities."

"Co-organised by Human Life Advancement Foundation and Confexhub Group, the Cities 4.0 and Business 4.0 will be bringing in the experts from technology and application; data and analysis; infrastructure and utilities; building; transport; communications and connectivity; health; even business and financial to connect with the city leaders and business owners to explore and align goals, objectives and business model as part of the smart cities ecosystem reliance and path the digital transformation roadmap," it said.

According to the statement, speakers at the event include those from Frost & Sullivan, McKinsey & Company, and Maxis.
