KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 31): Dolomite Corp Bhd has appointed Datuk Mangsor Ismail as its independent and non-executive chairman. He is currently a director of the group.

Mangsor, 68, replaces Tan Sri Mohd Jamil Johari, 71, who has stepped down from the group's board of directors "in the interest of board rejuvenation", the property development and construction group said in a filing.

Mangsor started his career in the police force in 1973, ultimately retiring as Sabah deputy police commissioner in 2006.

He is currently the deputy president of the Retired Senior Police Officers Association, while also being a member of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation of Malaysia, the Security Services Association's discipline panel.

He also sits on the board of directors of several private limited companies in Malaysia.

Shares in Dolomite Corp rose a sen or 9.1% to close at 12 sen today, giving a market capitalisation of RM34.19 million.
