KUALA LUMPUR (May 15): Dagang Nexchange Bhd’s (DNeX) unit has been awarded a contract to supply four new units of marine loading arm (MLA) integrated with relevant systems for Johor Port Bhd’s facilities.

The contract, worth RM7.49 million, was awarded today to DNeX’s wholly-owned subsidiary OGPC Sdn Bhd by Johor Port, a ports and logistics arm of Main Market-listed MMC Corp Bhd.

The tenure of the project is 310 days, ending on March 11, 2020, DneX said in its stock exchange filing.

“The scope of work include, among others, the investigation, design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of new four units 10 inches MLA, complete with hydraulic system and Siemens PLC control system, as to replace the existing four units eight inches manually-operated MLA.

“Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the project is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings and net assets per share of DNeX over the tenure of the project,” DNeX said.

Shares of DNeX finished half a sen or 1.96% higher at 26 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM457.09 million.

Meanwhile, MMC Corp — which earlier announced a RM2 billion capital expenditure for this year, mostly for its ports and logistics division — rose two sen or 1.98% to close at RM1.03 per share, valuing the group at RM3.14 billion.
