KUALA LUMPUR (June 1): Capital A Bhd’s logistic venture Teleport has appointed Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) chief executive officer (CEO) Augustus Ralph Marshall as its non-executive chairman.

In a statement on its website, the end-to-end logistics player said Olivier Petra — Unilever's global head of digital commerce supply chain — has also been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the venture.

Teleport said Marshall had previously served as both group CEO and deputy chairman of Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, while Petra worked with Lazada E-Logistics Malaysia and Lazada Group on building the company’s logistics transport strategy and logistics supplier management.

The pair will join Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, Hanim Hamzah, Bo Lingam, Colin Currie and Pete Chareonwongsak on Teleport’s board to oversee the strategic direction of the company.

“Each member brings their own set of accomplished skills and knowledge as Teleport continues in its mission to move things across Southeast Asia better than anyone else,” said Teleport.

Teleport's CEO Chareonwongsak said the company has worked diligently to ensure Teleport’s board and leadership represent diversity, experience and excellence that will sharpen its strategic direction and governance.

“I am thrilled that [Marshall] and [Petra] have agreed to join Teleport’s board as we evolve to be a regional leader. [Petra] adds deep logistics expertise, and [Marshall’s] invaluable perspective on business leadership will help Teleport pursue our mission,” he added.

Shares in Capital A, previously known as AirAsia Group Bhd, ended half a sen or 0.77% higher at 65.5 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM2.73 billion.
