KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 14): DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd plans to expand its chocolate chip cookies and chocolate-related businesses under the Famous Amos brand to Brunei after setting up a new sub-subsidiary there.

DKSH announced today its wholly-owned subsidiary Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookie Corp (M) Sdn Bhd has incorporated a new subsidiary, FACC (B) Sdn Bhd, with an issued and paid-up share capital of B$100.

"Its intended principal activity is to carry on business dealing with chocolate chip cookies and chocolate-related businesses," DKSH, a market expansion services firm, said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

"The board of directors of the company is of opinion that the incorporation of a new subsidiary is in the best interest of the company," DKSH added.

Famous Amos is a retailer of chocolate chip cookies as well as a selected assortment of complementary products such as hampers, gifts, chocolates and confectionery items.

According to DKSH's Annual Report 2017, Famous Amos had 81 outlets as at end-2017.

Established in 1923 in Penang and listed on the Main Market since December 1994, DKSH shares were untraded today. It last closed at RM3.82 yesterday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM602.25 million.
