Anyone who has ever attempted to patronise a new restaurant in town or book a table during peak hours would be familiar with the frustration of unanswered calls or being unable to make a reservation. Entrepreneur Benson Chang, has invented a solution for this and now, as are many other aspects of our lives, table reservations too are at our fingertips with a new mobile reservation app called TableApp.

TableApp enables users to browse restaurants based on parameters like location, date and party size before making reservations at any time of the day. It is free of charge and users will receive instant online confirmation upon a successful reservation. This table booking application currently provides this service for more than 380 restaurants in Malaysia and 100 in Thailand.

Apart from the main service provided, TableApp also offers exclusive promotions, restaurant updates, special menus and events as well as restaurant reviews along with personally recommended dishes. 

Recently, TableApp entered into a three-year exclusive collaboration agreement to jointly develop payment services to enhance overall online restaurant booking services including cashless payment for RHB cardholders. This partnership, which is RHB’s first with a start-up providing innovative lifestyle offerings and e-commerce payment services, aims to improve customers’ dining reservation experience. 

Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, group managing director of RHB Banking Group announced during the launch that, “We aim to complement our customers dining experience with the convenience of cashless payment options via RHB Now, exclusive discounts for RHB cardholders as well as the ability to purchase TableApp discounts via RHB’s Mobile Lifestyle App. In the future, we will also look at integrating TableApp restaurant reservations into our RHB banking applications.”

With about 100,000 TableApp users at the moment, the collaboration is a milestone in RHB’s digital journey that complements the apps growth, all in all resulting in easy access to a wide range of dining choices for their users.
