KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Digi.Com Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has today accepted the offer in respect to the spectrum assignments (SA) for 2x5MHz of 900MHz and 2x20MHz for 1,800MHz spectrum bands for a period of 15 years, effective July 1, 2017.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia today, DiGi.Com said the payment for the one-time fee component totaling about RM598.55 million was made within the deadline set by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today.

“The board of directors of Digi has decided to fund the one-time fee component mainly through its existing borrowing facilities and to maintain healthy net debt-to-EBITDA ratio below 1.0x,” it said.

The borrowings are not expected to have any material impact on the group’s consolidated earnings, earning per share, as well as net assets.

At 12.30 p.m., DiGi.Com’s shares traded 0.2% or 1 sen higher at RM5.04, for a market value of RM39.19 billion.
