KUALA LUMPUR (April 12): Dialog Group Bhd said that its Pengerang Deepwater Terminals facilities were not affected by the fire that broke out in Petronas' Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) in Johor this morning.

"Dialog wishes to announce that the said incident has not impacted our people nor our operations, and has no financial impact on our business," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

"The management will continue to assess and monitor our facilities and assets to ensure safe working conditions for our staff," Dialog added.

Petronas confirmed today that a fire and explosion occurred at 1.25am this morning at PIC. The national oil firm said the fire incident occurred at the atmospheric residue desulphurisation unit which is under commissioning stage.

Petronas said teams have been set up and they are currently working closely with relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the incident.

No fatality was recorded and one security guard who sustained light injuries has already been discharged upon receiving medical consultation.

Shares of Dialog closed down 2 sen or 0.63% today to RM3.17 for a market capitalisation of RM17.87 billion.
