KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 11): Parliament proceedings were halted for a ten-minute recess this morning after Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith fainted, possibly due to heart attack, according to news reports.

According to news reports, Parliament Deputy Speaker Datuk Rashid Hasnon called for the 10-minute recess when Kuala Pilah MP Eddin collapsed during the question-and-answer session.

Malay Mail quoted Kapar MP Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid as saying "He (Eddin) had a heart attack I think."

Pontian MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan was quoted as saying Eddin suffered from a shortness of breath.

Malay Mail reported: "Moments later, a female medical officer carrying medical equipment was seen rushing into the Lower House to attend to Eddin."

Free Malaysia Today (FMT) quoted Bagan Serai MP Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali as saying Eddin's blood pressure had been stable, but he was believed to be suffering from exhaustion.

FMT said: "Eddin was brought to the National Heart Institute for further examination."
