Datasonic sees 4.74% stake traded off market

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 12): Datasonic Group Bhd saw some 64 million shares, representing a 4.74% stake, in the company traded off market today, for RM86.4 million.

According to Bloomberg data, Datasonic's shares were moved in one direct business transaction block at RM1.35 per share, which is 11 sen or 7.53% lower than the RM1.46 closing price of its shares today.

A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed that Dibena Enterprise Sdn Bhd has disposed of shares via direct business transaction.

After the disposal by Dibena, Datasonic’s managing director Datuk Abu Hanifah Noordin, who is also a substantial shareholder in Datasonic, saw his indirect stake fall to 17.003%, from 21.744%. His direct stake of 15.445% remained unchanged.

Abu Hanifah held indirect interest in Datasonic, through his substantial shareholding in Dibena, Gerbang Subur Sdn Bhd and shares held by spouse and children.

The closing price of Datasonic’s shares of RM1.46 today is 2 sen or 1.39% higher than the previous close, valuing it at RM1.97 billion. Some 6.49 million shares were exchanged. Over the past two weeks, the counter has risen 13.2%.
