KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 13): Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd returned to black in its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 (4QFY14) with a net profit of RM3.27 million, compared with a net loss of RM314,000 million a year ago, on improved sales performance.

Cycle & Carriage (fundamental: 1.15; valuation: 2.4) told Bursa Malaysia today, its revenue for the quarter climbed 72.71% to RM282.02 million, from RM163.29 million in 4QFY13.

The Board did not declare an interim dividend in 2014, and is not recommending a final dividend for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2014.

For the full year (FY14), the group's net profit surged to RM10.33 million, from RM4.24 million; while revenue increased 43% to RM922.46 million, against RM644.98 a year earlier.

On prospects, the group — which is involved in the dealership of Mercedes-Benz vehicles — expects the trading performance to remain similar in 2015, while overall results should benefit from dividend income, if declared by associated company Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MBM).

The counter closed 1.53% or three sen higher at RM1.99 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM197.46 million.
