KUALA LUMPUR (March 25): There has been another death due to COVID-19 this evening, bringing Malaysia's death toll to 20, said Health Ditector-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

In a Facebook post, Noor Hisham said the victim was patient No 780, a Malaysian male aged 76 who  had attended the Tabligh assembly at the Sri Petaling Mosque.

"He was hospitalised at the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai, Kelantan on March 18. He was pronounced dead at 4.35pm on March 25.

"The Ministry of Health extends its condolences to his family," Noor Hisham said.

Earlier today, Noor Hisham announced four new deaths from COVID-19, while the country registered 172 new cases till up till noon today, bringing the infection tally to 1,796.

According to Noor Hisham, the deceased were all aged above 55, and one of them was a 75-year-old man in Kuala Lumpur who died in Hospital Kuala Lumpur at 7.40pm last night.

The other three deaths were in Johor involving two men aged 66 and 56 who passed away at 4am and 2am respectively this morning, and a woman aged 68 who died just about an hour past midnight.
