KUALA LUMPUR (March 12): Ten more Covid-19 clusters were reported today, five of which were linked to workplaces and another five were related to community infections.
The workplace-linked clusters contributed to 127 infections and the community clusters accounted for 119 infections, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement.
The workplace-linked clusters included the Jalan Industri Dua cluster in Gombak (18 infections), the Jalan Pelepas Dua cluster in Johor Bahru (12), and the Lintang Bayan Lepas cluster which spans the Timur Laut, Barat Daya, Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Selatan districts in Penang (59).
The remaining two workplace-linked clusters were the Jalan Laksamana cluster which spans Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Penang (23), and the Ladang Bukit cluster covering the Marang, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu and Kemaman districts in Terengganu (15).
As for the five community clusters, they included the Jalan Tempua cluster in Hulu Selangor (seven), and the Jalan Kunci Air cluster, which spans the Gombak and Hulu Selangor districts (18).
Three other community clusters were from Sarawak, namely the Jalan Main Bazaar cluster in Sri Aman (12), the Sena cluster which spans Miri and Subis districts (61), and the Buloh Pasi cluster in Meradong (21).
The total number of clusters in the county stood at 1,232, 440 of which are currently active while 792 have been declared ended.
Malaysia logged 1,575 new Covid-19 cases today, marking the seventh straight day that daily infections have stayed below the 2,000 mark. Three more deaths from the illness were recorded, raising the coronavirus death toll here to 1,203.
