Covid-19: 97% of Malaysian adults fully vaccinated as of Dec 1

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 2): A total of 22,698,593 individuals or 97% of the adult population of the country had completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of Wednesday (Dec 1).

Based on the Ministry of Health’s COVIDNOW portal, 98.4% or 23,034,278 individuals of the adult population had received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, 86.2% of adolescents or 2,712,550 individuals aged 12 to 17 years had completed their vaccination. They were among 89.8% of the age group or 2,824,704 teenagers who had received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 142,607 doses of the vaccine were dispensed on Wednesday, with 7,347 of them as second shots, 4,744 first jabs and 130,516 booster doses, bringing the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation programme to 53,671,277 so far.

A total of 2,590,730 booster doses had been dispensed.
