KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 6): The Ministry of Health (MoH) detected 12 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
In a statement, he said 11 of them involve workplaces, while another one is linked to high-risk groups.
One of the workplace-related clusters is Industri Kampung Baru, detected in Petaling, Selangor with 167 infections found from 450 individuals screened, said Noor Hisham.
He said the cluster was identified from targeted screening involving three factories in the Topaz Industrial Centre, Kampung Baru, Sungai Buloh.

Meanwhile, the lone cluster linked to high-risk groups is Jalan Kubur Darau detected in Besut, Terengganu with 15 infections.
According to Noor Hisham, there have been 888 clusters in Malaysia, including the 12 new clusters found today. A total of 447 clusters have ended as no new cases were reported from them in 28 days.
These include the Rapat cluster in Perak, the Jalan SEDCO cluster in Sabah, the Rambai cluster which spanned Melaka, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, the Jalan Nikolas cluster in Kuala Lumpur and the Ria-30 cluster in Sabah.
The number of active clusters now stood at 441. From that total, 93 clusters reported additional cases today, with the most coming from the Industri Serkam cluster in Melaka with 257 cases, the newly-identified Industri Kampung Baru cluster (167), and the Mayang Pasir cluster in Penang (102).
Malaysia today reported 3,847 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country's total infections to 238,721.
