(Oct 27): Datuk Seri Najib Razak, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and two others were granted a stay in the suit against them by PKR to nullify the 13th general election results following reports of RM2.6 billion found in the prime minister's personal bank accounts.

Judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab, in making his ruling, said he agreed with the defendants that they would be prejudiced if stay was not granted should they succeed in striking out the application.

Earlier in September, the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered Najib to file his defence by October 1 in the suit filed by PKR and five others against Najib, 1MDB, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and the Election Commission.

The plaintiffs had also applied for discovery of documents from Najib and several others.

But the stay today was granted against the earlier order for the prime minister to file his defence and on the discovery of documents. – The Malaysian Insider
