KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13): Pos Malaysia Bhd expects its courier service division to contribute more than half of total revenue in three years time, said Group CEO Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood

The larger earnings contribution from the courier division hinges on the exponential growth in e-commerce activities, as the traditional snail mail service declines, said Iskandar.

"As such, we have been working hard in expanding our e-commerce services portfolio," he said.

"There is a growing trend of transhipment from China to Malaysia. We foresee this to continue to grow in the years to come," he told reporters after launching EziPoz here today.

EziPoz is the newest service offered by the postal group. It serves as a platform for customers to shop directly from more than 350,000 online merchants in the United States.

Pos Malaysia established the platform in collaboration with Singapore Post (SingPost).

Currently, mail delivery service remained as Pos Malaysia’s the main income earner, contributing over 50% of the group's total revenue.

Its courier service division accounted for between 35% and 40% of the group total revenue.

On the government’s fuel subsidy rationalisation programme, Iskandar said Pos Malaysia had submitted its request for proposal (RFP)to the government last Monday.

"We are hoping that we could bag the contract,” he said.

Pos Malaysia is partnering with Datasonic Group Bhd to bid for the government’s fuel subsidy rationalisation programme, through Fuelsubs House Sdn Bhd.
