JOHOR BAHRU (June 24): Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd (CGPV) the developer of Forest City in Johor has handed over the Tanjung Adang Forest City Park to the Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAIJ) in a ceremony yesterday.

The signing of a plaque marked the handover of the recreation park, witnessed by State Housing, Communication and Multimedia Committee Chairman Dzulkefly Ahmad who is also Kota Iskandar assemblyman.

The 0.81-ha green lung broke ground in March and was completed  in April 2019 with a sum of RM200,000, which includes the cost of renovating an existing surau.

Works carried out include planting trees, putting in benches, gazebos and a jogging track as part of the landscaping.

“The handing over of the park bear testimony to CGPV’s commitment in creating value for Johoreans and in supporting community needs. This is also in line with the National Community Policy or Dasar Komuniti Negara (DKN) initiative under the Housing and Local Government Ministry” said Ng Zhu Hann, Director of Strategy  Country Garden Malaysia and Forest City.

CGPV was first approached by Mohd Ramzan Johari, the Tanjong Adang ketua kampong or village head  early 2019 to add value to the vacant plot of wakaf land that also housed the local surau. Approval was later obtained from the relevant authority to build a park with parking lots on the said land.

The company has to-date contributed more than RM10 million for its corporate social responsibility programmes.
