KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): CLIQ Energy Bhd has stated that its proposed qualifying acquisition (QA) of oil and gas asset is still under negotiation with various parties.

“There are a number of issues being negotiated with these parties; one of which is the operatorship issue,” its filing to Bursa Malaysia reads.

It was reported in The Edge Financial Daily on Monday that CLIQ has revised its plans to acquire only one of Canadian-listed Jura Energy Corp’s wholly-owned subsidiaries in Pakistan, instead of two.

According the report, the main reason was that CLIQ’s advisors were concerned the Securities Commission of Malaysia may not approve the deal, because CLIQ would not have a majority interest and full operatorship of the assets.
