KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 15): This week, we round up some of the best moments of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which defied all odds to become a sumptuous feast of sportsmanship, feats and heart. 

Served up by 13,000 competitors who had sacrificed so much just to take part, the Pandemic Games — as some call it — was a groundbreaking exhibition of athleticism, skill and courage that carved its own marble tablet of Olympic history.

There were many memorable moments worth celebrating, from the withdrawal of American gymnast extraordinaire Simone Biles, who sparked a global debate about mental health in sports; the meteoric success of China's Quan Hongchan, who earned three perfect 10s during her 10m diving platform event; to the achievements of our Malaysian contingent, in which elite cyclist Azizulhasni Awang won silver in keirin while badminton men’s double Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik clinched bronze.

Also in this issue, newly appointed Yayasan TM director Izlyn Ramli talks about her plans to achieve greater social impact for the charitable trust; while Katharine Joan Chua makes a heartfelt appeal to save Tropical Spice Garden, a hidden Eden that captures its owners’ vision and spirit.

Glasgow-born mixologist Jack Jamieson, who created more than 700 recipes on his Instagram profile, showcases some of his best cocktails with a Scottish twist.
