KUALA LUMPUR (April 9): CIMB Group Holdings Bhd is partnering with e-commerce provider Shopmatic to provide free-of-charge webinar sessions for its SME (small and medium enterprise) customers due to the challenges faced by them during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
In a statement today, the banking group said this 60-minute free-of-charge webinar sessions are to offer business solutions to the SMEs that own a CIMB Business Current Account or Business Current Account-I in setting up their business online.
CIMB’s chief executive officer of group commercial banking Victor Lee Meng Teck said the sessions would benefit the SMEs, with valuable help and guidance towards setting up their online stores.
“The platform will help SMEs operate in a practical and more efficient way during these challenging times, where restricted physical mobility need not be an obstacle, both for the businesses and their customers.
“The scalability of the platform also means that businesses can leverage the full power of this business suite to take advantage of global online business opportunities,” he said.
The webinar sessions, named “Build Your Own Store” and “Start Selling Online”, normally cost RM1,500 and will be held four times throughout April 9 to 23 as well as May 14 to 21.
Besides, Shopmatic’s capabilities will be able to benefit both small businesses, with limited budgets, as well as growing businesses looking for cost-effective ways to expand.
Post-training, the platform can already start to sell their products or services.
Meanwhile, SMEs who are non-CIMB business account holders can register for the sessions subject to terms and conditions. The information can be found on https://communitymy.myshopmatic.com/build-your-own-store or drop an email to [email protected].
