KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 18): Li Guo Qing has resigned from his post as managing director (MD) of China Automobile Parts Holdings Ltd today, citing health reasons.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, China Automobile said Li, 37, has also ceased to be member of the company's remuneration committee on the same date.

Li, a Filipino, was appointed as China Automobile's MD on April 4, 2012.

Following his resignation, China Automobile said it does not have sufficient independent non-executive directors to be appointed to its remuneration committee, which only consists of Tan Sik Eek and Ong Tee Kein.

"The board is actively in the process of identifying and selecting suitable candidates to fill in this vacancy," said the company.

China Automobile was incorporated and founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Jinjiang City, Fujian, China.

The company specialises in the manufacturing of chassis components used in automobiles for transporting goods.

Its shares closed unchanged at 2.5 sen today for a market capitalisation of RM34.05 million.
