KUALA LUMPUR(Nov 18): Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd’s related party transaction(RPT) with Danish Malting Group Polska Sp. z.o.o , has exceeded the 10% threshold of recurrent RPTs  stipulated in its circular to shareholders dated March 26,2014.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Carlsberg said that the actual contracted transaction value of RM3.5million for its recurrent RPT with Polska, which is engaged in the production and sale of malt and beverages for the period from September 2014 to April 2015 had exceeded the estimated transaction value, which had been stipulated in the circular to be between RM100,000 to RM 1 million by RM2.5 million or 250%.

Carlsberg said that the excess amount from the estimated transaction value was due to the increased sourcing from Polska due to malt shortage with their main supplier, which is Danish Malting Group A/S.

Both Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia and Polska are subsidiaries of Carlsberg Breweries A/S (CBAS).

CBAS is the holding company and major shareholder of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia, with a 51% stake.

Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia share price was up four sen today to RM10.50, giving it a market capitalisation of RM3.23 billion.
