KUALA LUMPUR (June 8): Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd has temporarily suspended the operations of its brewery in Shah Alam from June 2.

“Reference is made to the Malaysian government’s full movement control order which is effective from June 1 to June 14 to curb the spread of the coronavirus infection in the country and in line with the National Security Council’s standard operating procedures announcement on June 1, the company’s brewery in Shah Alam is temporarily closed from June 2 and necessary arrangements to work-from-home for our employees are in place,” said Carlsberg in a bourse filing.

Carlsberg also said that aligned with the global Carlsberg Group’s measures, it has implemented its comprehensive business continuity plan in Malaysia that maps the potential impact across its operations along with the appropriate response required to ensure minimal disruptions and impact to its business.

At noon break, Carlsberg rose 18 sen or 0.81% to RM22.42, valuing the group at RM6.84 billion.
