KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 30): Caring Pharmacy Group Bhd’s net profit grew 2.27% to RM4.18 million in the first quarter ended Aug 31, 2019 (1QFY20) from RM4.09 million in the same period a year ago, as revenue increased.

Earnings per share rose to 1.92 sen from 1.88 sen in 1QFY19.

Its quarterly revenue was also up 8.86% at RM163.26 million versus RM149.97 million, mainly contributed by the sales generated from the establishment of 16 new outlets, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

During the quarter under review, Caring has established three more complex outlets and one high street outlet.

As of Aug 31, the company has a total of 129 community pharmacies.

Caring said it will continue to deploy appropriate business strategies to strengthen its operational productivity, digitalise business operations and also adjust its products and marketing strategies amid the challenging business environment locally.

Shares of Caring were up one sen or 0.41% to close at RM2.45 today, valuing the company at RM533.38 million. Over the past year, the counter has surged some 54.1% from RM1.59.
