KUALA LUMPUR (June 24): Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMS) has secured a six-month contract extension for the long-term management and maintenance of state roads in Sarawak, worth RM94 million.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its unit CMS Roads Sdn Bhd received the extension letter from the Sarawak government today.

The extension period is from July 1 to Dec 31, based on the same terms of the contract, it said.

CMS said the contract extension is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings during the tenure of the contract.

CMS’ share price closed down eight sen or 2.59% to RM3.01 today, with 2.96 million shares done. It is currently valued at RM3.23 billion.
