KUALA LUMPUR: The ministry of international trade and industry (Miti) said it encourages businesses which have existing approval to operate during the movement control order (MCO) to make a fresh application for the third phase.

The ministry said businesses can get a new approval letter with a new format which includes a QR code for ease of verification by local authorities.

Miti earlier gave approval for 2,732 companies to operate as usual during the MCO, and has extended this approval for the third phase lasting from today to April 28.

“Miti will also upgrade the configuration system, namely the Covid-19 Intelligent Management System 2.0, for companies operating during the third phase of the MCO. This effort is carried out by CyberSecurity Malaysia and various private IT companies,” it said in a statement.
