KUALA LUMPUR (April 7): Babycare accessories, toys and condoms maker Takaso Resources Bhd has been slapped with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia today over the recent rally in its trading volume.

In a filing today, Bursa Malaysia requested Takaso (fundamental: 1.25; valuation:0.3) to disclose any corporate development relating to the group's business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity.

Bursa also queried "if there is any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group that may account for the trading activity."

The surge in trading volume of the counter occurred today when it saw some 61.58 million units change hands, compared to some 2.92 million units traded yesterday (April 6).

The counter was trading at a low of 25 sen on Aug 1 last year and climbed to a high of 71.5 sen on Jan 23 this year.

Takaso closed at 55 sen today, up 3.5 sen or 6.8%, which gives it a market capitalisation of RM112.17 million.
