KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 4): Bursa Malaysia has issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query to Caring Pharmacy Group Bhd, over the recent jump in its share price.

Since last week, the counter had gained 57 sen or 54% from its closing price of RM1.05 on Aug 25, to finish at RM1.62 yesterday (Sept 3).

Today, Caring rose as much as one sen or 0.6% to RM1.63. At 11.21am, the stock erased gains at RM1.60, bringing the company's market capitalisation to RM348.32 million.

Bursa told Caring: "We draw your attention to the recent rise in price of your company’s shares."

Caring had not responded to Bursa's UMA query at the time of writing.

In its fourth quarter ended May 31, 2015, Caring more than doubled its net profit to RM2.63 million, from RM1.28 million a year earlier. Revenue rose to RM95.41 million, from RM88.64 million.

Full-year net profit however fell to RM12.87 million, from RM15.08 million a year earlier. Revenue was higher at RM366.7 million, against RM338.34 million.

Caring plans to pay a tax-free dividend of two sen a share for the quarter in review. The company said it would seek shareholders'approval for the exercise.
