KUALA LUMPUR (April 13): Bursa Malaysia has issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query to Ann Joo Resources Bhd about its recent share price gain.

At 12.30pm today, Ann Joo shares rose seven sen or 6% to settle at RM1.23 for a market value of RM615.7 million. The stock saw some three million shares traded.

Ann Joo shares had risen in recent days. On April 1 this year, the stock closed at 87.5 sen before climbing to current levels.

Today, Bursa Malaysia told Ann Joo: "We draw your attention to the recent rise in price of your company's shares."

Ann Joo had not responded to Bursa Malaysia's UMA query at the time of writing.
