KUALA LUMPUR (April 2): Malaysians in the B40 group who have received Cost of Living Aid (BSH) previously are not required to register to receive Prihatin Nasional Aid (BPN), said the Inland Revenue Board today.

This is because BSH recipients will receive the BPN automatically, IRB said in a statement today.

For the M40 group, those who have income tax information with the IRB are also not required to register for BPN.

For this group, their eligibility will be evaluated based on income and other criteria set by the government, the board said.

The status of the BPN disbursement can be done online via https://www.hasil.gov.my or https://bpn.hasil.gov.my. To check for the status, an applicant needs to only fill up their identification card number.

If the status says “no record”, then the individual can submit a new application, which is open until April 30, the statement said.

“Members of the public are reminded that manual application via physical form is not available for now as all IRB premises are closed until the end of the Movement Control Order,” it added.

For failed applications, an appeal can be submitted online via the two aforementioned web links beginning tomorrow (April 3).

Members of the public are also advised to avoid peak hours when checking their status due to the high traffic to the portals currently.

“For the record, the BPN payout will be done in stages in April and May 2020,” it said.
